Mornings

Mornings are wonderful, you know? It takes me awhile to wake up and become social so I think that is why I have a love affair with coffee. It is warm, soothing and it doesn’t talk. It comforts and it is warm. As I sit out on the deck watching the sunrise, I can smell the coffee and see the steam rising from the cup. It doesn’t say anything… it’s just there. It allows me to enjoy a peaceful, quiet morning.

Mornings; however, can be challenging because I want to keep sleeping, but you know from my earlier post, my cat makes this almost impossible. So, because I love her so, I get up. I have learned to have a good attitude because if it weren’t for her, I would miss some wonderful sunrises, beautiful bird songs, and I would miss listening to the world wake up. I really enjoy that part. I love living in the woods and hearing all the different sounds. It’s inspiring and somehow holy.

As the morning drifts along, I know the challenges of the day will begin. I will have places to go, people to see, and things to do. My prayer is that the peace I have found this morning will stay with me throughout the day. May you to find your place of peace this morning, savor the moment, and listen to the world wake up.

Enjoy the Lord’s day, my friends.
