Another Day Closer

Well, readers, it's another day closer to Saturday! Yea! I am really looking forward to that day and I am trying to get my stuff done around the apartment so that I can have the day open to whatever strikes my fancy. You know I love my Saturdays and this one is no exception. I have been looking forward to this day for a long time. I have thought about what I want to do, how long I want to sleep, the flavored coffee I want to drink on the deck. I am jazzed beyond belief. :)

But, since today is only Tuesday, I need to get my head back in the game.

My daughter snagged me to play some silly game. I am supposed to name six things about myself. So, here goes...

1) I love Mexican food. I mean really love it. I could eat it 7 days a week. I like old mexican food not some of the new stuff. I like tamales, enchiladas, beans, rice, burritos, but I do not care for fajitas. Don't ask me why? I don't have a quippy answer... I just don't like them. Oh! I love to have one margarita along with it. I can't do two, I just like one. And who can forget chips and salsa? Tasty.

2) I can say the alphabet backwards. I learned how to do it in the first grade. I looked at the alphabet chart in class and decided that one day I would try to learn it backwards. I can't say it slow, I have to do it fast. I do great until I get down to F then the letters want to fall out of my mouth at the same time. I have to really concentrate.

3) I love music. In fact, I hum when there isn't any music around. It sooths my soul, it can jazz my mood, and I love to dance, sing, move and groove... I just love it. I like all kinds of music too, from some classical stuff, to country, to christian, to jazz. It totally depends on my mood.

4) I love road trips and traveling. I would like to take a trip on a motorcycle one day... just to ride through the country and see the sites. I think that would be a blast! (Just not in the rain, yuck!) I loved driving through Lancaster County Pennsylvania because of the picturesque Amish farms. It was lovely country. But if I were going on a motorcycle....it would have to be the mountains.

5) I wanted four kids. I enjoyed being a mom and I was one of those Earth Mothers. I joined a food co-op, a cheese co-op, joined Le Leche League back in the 80's and nursed both kids for longer than a year, I had a garden... (that was a joke), I made my own everything back then. I loved it. I was granola before granola was popular. I wanted to homeschool both kids but back in 84 there wasn't the plethora of homeschooling materials like there is now. I am envious of these new moms who can find all kinds of educational material for teaching their children at home. I didn't have to work when they were young because Dean and I both wanted me to be able to stay at home with them. He was a very good dad and an understanding husband, however I don't think he was the granola dad, he just humored me. :)

6) I freeze animals. Yes, you read that correctly. I freeze, or did freeze, animals. Not on purpose, mind you, but it happened more than once so my family was a little anxious when I was around our animals. I froze Bran's poor turtle once and thankfully was able to resurrect it from its icy hell. It came back to life and Bran was most impressed! I was the coolest mom ever. (He forgot that I was the one that froze him in the first place. I had forgotten to bring him in from the garage after we returned from vacation.)
However, when I froze the little guy a second time... his poor little body just couldn't take the shock. He never did fully recover from his chilling experience. I think he was just shell-shocked and then he finally just passed away to the great icy turtle home in the sky. It was a sad day. I also froze our crab. I nearly froze the rabbit, but he survived. Thank goodness my two cats are indoor cats and don't have to fear for their lives. Well, let me restate that... now that I am at that age where I "power surge" I do keep the apartment fairly cool. But I don't think they will freeze. They have fur coats!

There you are folks. Just six silly things about the Queen. Some of you may know some of the things on the list, but you might not have known all six. So, now it's your turn. You tell me six things about yourself. It's kinda fun to see what you come up with.
