1) Work was good. Productive, fairly quiet, and it went by very fast.
2) I went by to see mom and dad after work and they seemed to be settling into a routine. Things seemed to be going ok. There are always "issues," but God is good. There seems to be a solution or a way around it. Dad's spirit flucuates but is for the most part, positive.
3) I went to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It was good. Books that are about moods, teen anxst, and thoughts are very difficult to put on the big screen. Just take a look at the Stephen King books that have been made into movies. With the exception of the Green Mile, Running Man, and maybe one other one.... the rest were BAD. His books are mainly in the head and those just don't translate to screen well. HP was good.
4) I got to talk to the Tot today. Kristen let her talk and when she went to take the phone away I heard her say, "NO, mama, I talk to Nana." That is such a flip from hearing her say "NO" and then the pitter patter of little feet running away. She didn't like to talk on the phone, but I think she is past that now.... much to my delight!5) I saw some great vacation pictures on a friend's blog. When they made an unscheduled stop, I read, "We may never pass this way ever again." I laughed out loud. (We have so many things in common.... and this was just one of many.) One of my most favorite trips in my lifetime was when Dean and I spontaneously drove from Gettysburg to the east coast. We were supposed to go back to IN but we didn't.... we headed to NY and took a ferry to Manhattan. We hopped on a subway train and took it to Central Park, where the kids were able to go through FAO Schwartz toy store. It was the store in the movie BIG where Tom Hanks jumped on the giant floor keyboard. The kids loved it. Our mantra for the whole trip was, "We may never pass this far east ever again." It was the best trip ever! I said that line in Connecticut, I said it in Rhode Island, I said it in Boston, I said it on Plymouth Rock, and I said it while we were driving through Cape Cod. If we had had enough time, I think I could have talked Dean into going al the way to Nova Scotia!!! But as it was, that line drove us from Pennsylvania all the way to Cape Cod.
6) I am one day closer to the weekend. Hallelujah! I am ready to sleep in, read, do some chores, hang out with my mom and dad (who is doing better), and then shave my cats. Yes, sports fans.... I think it's time to ditch the fur. They have needed this for a month, but I just couldn't do it to Miss B again. She got her buzz last summer and slunk around here for several days.... not really looking me in the eye. I think she might have shot me if she knew how to hold a gun with her paws. The positive side to it is, she doesn't shed (praise God!) and we rid ourselves of the pesky furballs. When I try to comb them out... she gets rather testy. Gabby doesn't even have a clue, bless her little heart. She is such a doll-baby. I'll take pics and post them later.
Well, I am going to knock out a chapter or two in a book I'm reading called "Jesus, the Jewish Theologian." My AOB (adopted older brother) John let me borrow it. I was discussing this book with "Pastor Mike" from Desperation Church on Saturday evening and he found it to be very insightful into the lifestyle of the Jews during the time period of Christ. John told me he had the book and that the Miller Libary was open for business. So, I will take the thrilling, action-packed spy novel (just kidding) to bed and see if I can get 2 chapters finished before my eyes close for the evening.
So, good night dear friends... and have a pleasant tomorrow.
