Planning, Doing, and 3 days..

Did you notice? Three more days until the wedding.

I struggle when faced with major life changing moments. I have a wedding and a move taking place within a week. I have my daughter's family staying in my totally un-childproofed apartment. Throw Thanksgiving in there for good measure and you have a perfect recipe for stress induced anxiety! The Unsinkable penned a wonderful piece on planning, and while she is correct, I am PLANNED OUT. After the plans, you have to have "do-s." Sooner rather than later, I have to "do" all the things I have planned. There, my readers, is wherein lies the rub.

I am really a planner and not a doer. I can plan til the cows come home, but eventually if ANYTHING is going to get done on The Plan, then I must morph into The Doer. The kicker is, I just don't like "doing." Can I hear an "Amen!" Sometimes I even have to play games in order to get the jobs accomplished. There is the game I play called, "Call Kristen on the Hour." It holds me accountable. Then there is "Work for 45 minutes and Play for 15" game. (Self explanatory)
That one is really my favorite - but sometimes I can play the combo game and call Kristen during the 15 minute play time. Nice, but I have been known to stretch the 15 to about 30.

So, while confessing my sins to Tim (no - he was not wearing a collar, so it was really just a sharing moment, not a real confession), I told him about my penchant for planning and my failure at follow through. Guess what? We found out that while I like to plan, he likes to do! Can this marriage GET any better?

For right now, Tim is still in Texas and at some point The Planner has to morph into The Doer. Pray for me, dear readers.... I must get some of the things done on my list or chaos will insue when those dear grandbabies hit the door and squeal in delight at all the open boxes, half cleaned closets, books, papers, towels, shoes, cats, pictures, nicknack-paddy wacks and all of the other various and asundry items littering Nana's apartment floor. I don't want to become fodder for more Unsinkable posts. :)

You, my friend are in great need of a worker bee. How about if I come out and help you with all of those things that must be done.
What do you mean that nothing would get done if I came over????
Movies would be watched, books would be read. Oh, I see your point.
