My friend, Judy, flew down here from Indiana last Thursday and we had a terrific visit. The only drawback was we had to leave San Antonio early on Saturday because I was unable to walk and we had to spend about 3 hours at the emergency med clinic on Sunday. When we were at the Alamo, Tim & Judy decided that since we had no pain killers, we would use alcohol instead. If I was sloshed... then maybe I could handle the 3 hour drive back home. We found a place to eat on the Riverwalk and after about 4 pretty stiff drinks, I was able to pour myself into the car and sleep most of the way home in the back seat. It wasn't pretty. Kinda funny, but not pretty.
Sunday was the doctor day. After Saturdays' experience, neither one of them were letting me off the hook. And truthfully, I couldn't hobble from the couch to the bathroom without pain spiking up my leg. So, I went.
The meds are finally beginning to work. My leg is somewhat better, but it's a good thing I'm not working... cause I haven't been able to walk. I was even given a 'script for a temporary handicap sticker but the state of Texas wouldn't issue me one without a Texas driver's license. That is another story for another post.
Well, loyal readers, I'm sorry I've let you down, but hopefully I will be posting more as the days go on and I begin to feel better.
Enjoy the weather wherever you are.
