I DID IT!

Yes, folks, that's right! You read the title and saw the picture. I did it! After receiving the dreaded news that I need back surgery - I sought some additional information and treatment. I went the acupuncture route. My doctor does NOT promise instant healing nor does she promise no surgery, but she does suggest that this treatment may reduce the pain along with the possible reduction of discomfort and numbness. After giving this a try, I may still need to visit my dear surgeon. (sheesh) Oh well.

For those of you with curious minds, the needles didn't hurt. The first one went in so smooth that I wasn't really sure if she had done it. The second one stung a little more. Then the others went in much like the first one. She only put them on the small of my back and on my upper right hip. I had to lay on my stomach for about 20 minutes with a small heat lamp nearby. It was very soothing and restful. The only problem came when I had to cough and I was afraid that the pressure of the cough would pop out the needles. This of course is foolish, but my mind just went bonkers thinking about needles shooting out of my back like they were being hurled from mini grenade launchers! The mental picture cracked me up so bad that I had to laugh. Well, that wouldn't have been good either. So, I tried to summon all the mental prowess I had and control myself by not coughing or laughing!
WHO CAN DO THIS when they are half naked???

Oh the inhumanity. Oh the loss of dignity. Oh well, at least I managed to keep some of my body functions under control. And that's all I have to say about that.
