My friend, Birgit, came to visit Tim and I over the weekend. She had never been to Texas before so we decided to go to San Antonio and tour the Alamo, walk around the Riverwalk, eat some great Texas BBQ (not as good as KC), and then topped it off with a little shopping at Tanger's outlet mall. Whew! We were really tired when we got back but it was a bright, sunny, 80 degree, cloudless, Texas day! Even with the 40,000 fans there for the Final Four Basketball Tournament. Yeah, you read that right... the Final Four was in San Antonio the very same weekend. But, it wasn't bad, just full of great laughs and since Birgit grew up in Overland Park, KS, she (and Tim & I) talked to a bunch of KU fans. It was really a fun day.

The picture of Birgit and I was taken in front of the little airport in College Station. There are only 2 gates and it is the way an airport should be: small, easy to get in and out of, no lines, and a quick walk onto the plane. For those of you who would like to come to visit.... trust me, this is a 8 minute drive, quick in-and-out, and we're off on "high adventures!" (Burt from Mary Poppins)
We went to church on Sunday and then she was winging her way back to KC. It was a short, whirlwind trip but we loved it and had a wonderful visit. I can't wait for her to come back again.
I did manage to get a few
m

ore pictures . . . so here you go.
