Just Another Miscellaneous Monday

IT IS RAINING!!!!! Oh yeah. I mean a gully-washer. I am so excited because we are actually hearing thunder and watching lightening. How cool is that??? We haven’t had rain like this since . . . well. . . since maybe July or the first of August. The thunder is comforting and I AM lovin’ it!

I am having a little trouble acclimating to my new Texas environment – I mean it’s September 8th and it was 93 today!!! Seriously. I said 93!!!!! How do you shop for fall decorations when it feels like July? Oh, and the weather gal said it would be a pleasant 95 today. Did you catch that? A “pleasant” 95? It might be considered pleasant in Hell, but I consider 95 degrees HOT. “Pleasant” is a nice 75 degrees.

When the fall weather is pleasant (read 75 degrees) that’s when I’d go shopping for pumpkins, mums, fall leaves, and barn-red sweaters from CJ Banks. I would make apple muffins, cinnamon bread, start some stew in the crock pot, or sit outside and look at the fall colors. While I’m out there I’d smell a hint of smoke in the air from the neighbors burning their leaves. Now THAT is fall.

I wonder how I will decorate a cactus in fall???
