And the Third thing is......

Coffee. Did I mention that I LOVE coffee? When attending night school a couple of years ago, three of my five papers were about coffee. Not because I loved it but more because the theme worked for all the different types of papers. The class got a lot of laughs over the subject matter, poked some fun, and talked about getting together for some kind of intervention.

Maybe an intervention was in order…. You see, I love to drink it. I also love to collect mugs that hold it, I like to try different kinds of coffee and different brands, and I like to drink it alone or with friends. I like to drink it at work, with dessert, after dinner, and especially on a deck overlooking water with family.

Now after you have finished reading those last two paragraphs you would think that I drink it all the time and don’t have a single negative thing to say about my ‘java-jones.’ But you would be wrong. You see I DON’T like it cold. I don’t like Frappacinos, I don’t like mocha-flavored food, and I don’t like coffee on super hot days in the middle of the day. As my dear husband would say, “What’s up with that?”

So, here I sit holding my favorite blue Indianapolis mug (an airport souvenir purchase) filled with steaming hot coffee (Starbucks) along with a dash of cinnamon, chocolate creamer, and a dollop of whipping cream. I am once again reminded of how much I love this beverage and how a love affair could easily be misconstrued as an addiction. Seriously – how could any one think I’ve got a problem with coffee?

Maybe next time I should compose an ode to coffee..... Yeah, that's the ticket.
