A Few of My Favorite Things

Pain pills. Heating pad. Massage. Lazy Boy. Laptop. These are a few of my favorite things when my back decides to rebel against some movement that it didn’t like. Over the weekend, I was cleaning up my desk in the home office and Gabby decided she wanted to sit on the printer and watch me. Then she needed to swipe at the papers on the desk. She swiped at the pen because she thought that I was teasing her with it when I was actually making out my “to do” list. Since she wanted to watch me and I wanted to keep her around, I decided to go get her kitty-condo and bring it into the office. I knew better than to lift it, so I thought dragging it would make better sense. My back thought differently.

Anyway, I spent yesterday at work in misery. When I got home, my wonderful and considerate husband worked out all of the kinks in my back and banned me to the sofa while he took care of me. (Yeah, he’s awesome!) I ended the evening with medication and a good night sleep and woke up with much less pain than the day before. Ahhhhhh.

Some people live their entire lives in pain.

I don’t know how they do it.

Praise God for pain pills. Heating pads. Massages. Lazy Boys. And laptops.
