Today was a good day. I know you are asking yourself, “What does a good day for Cynthia look like?” Well, it’s like this….
I woke up! Any day that you wake up is a good day, don’t you agree? The opposite means that you DON’T wake up and that is “no bueno.”
Tim took me to breakfast at IHOP and we had a wonderful time sharing a paper, eating something that I didn’t have to cook, and then talked over our drinks for a while.
I needed a new journal for 2009 ‘cause I wrote on the last page of my old one. So we went to Barnes and Noble and I kicked around a few journals until I finally settled on one that I liked. While I did that, Tim found a book for himself, I found a book for myself and we hurried to the cashier before more books could jump into our hands.
Then we drove around. The weather was wonderful, a balmy 77, and we thought a drive with the windows down was just the ticket. We stopped at the nearby winery and wandered around, hopped across the street to wander around the pottery stop, and then slowly drove home.
I was able to prune some bushes with Tim, help him clean out my car, re-pasted my kitchen border, did a load of laundry, took an outstanding nap, listened to Tim play his guitar while we sat outside by the chiminea watching the sun set. I fixed a quick pasta dinner and we ate outside while the fire died down.
So, you see….this is what I would call a ‘good day.’ A little work, a little play, a little arts –n- crafts, a little culture, a little scenery, a good nap, and good company.
I call it "good day."
