One of the things about being single is the lack of enthusiasm for cooking for one. It's almost like, "why bother?" So, I find myself going out to dinner with a lot of friends and family. The cool thing about this is I guess a combination of things.... the dinner, the laugher, the drinks, the music, the atmosphere. It's the whole package. It can lessen stress. It can deepen friendships. It can stimulate your thinking. It is fun to tease the waiter! And get free dessert. :)
Tonight, I had dinner with John and Lori . We ate at Granite City and I was excited about it because I had never been there before. (I am trying to expand and try new things... but vegetables don't count!) We had a really nice guy named Mike wait on us and by the end of the evening we were just cracking him up. (We had already paid, so he wasn't sucking up!) He commented on how much fun he had and he would like for us to sit at his section next time. We always have a great time when we go out and we always laugh a lot. In fact, I think I laughed out half a week's worth of stress just tonight.
Now if I could find some way of getting rid of the calories from the dessert....
