Her daddy loves her so much. He was (and still is) wrapped around her little finger. He would have jumped over the moon for her, and I think he would give it a good college try if she asked him today! (wink) He was a great daddy and made sure she lacked for nothing... even if it meant going without something himself.
I think Jesus loves her even more than that. He died for her. He even died for her daddy. He died for all of us. And sometimes I think we take that for granted. When Kristen was little, she didn't know what kind of sacrifices her daddy made for her. Now that she is older, she does. When we begin our journey with Jesus, we don't fully know what he has done for us either. We take it for granted like a little child. As we grow older, only then do we truly begin to understand the depth of love He had for us in order to make such a huge, life-ending, sacrifice.
Kristen's love for her daddy is a more mature love now, but it still has its little child roots buried deep into her heart. Just like mine are for my dad. Some readers may not have had a good earthly daddy, they may not have good memories. Jesus knows that, and offers his love to you to fill that gap. He will replace the longings in your heart. He will give you others to love. Psalms chapter 68 and verse 6 says, "God sets the lonely in families." That verse offers hope and belonging, understanding and preparation. He knows our earthly families can disappoint us, but he offers a spiritual family (the church) to fill that gap. He knows our needs and provides.
Kristen's daddy knew her needs and provided. Her heavenly father knows her and provides for her as well. And he will for you too.
