Sunday can be a day of conflict for me. Why is it that Sunday is the one day where sleep is the sweetest? The weather is the best for snuggling in the bed, and just finding that right spot for the most excellent rest you have ever had? Why is that? If it weren’t for my furry alarm clock that has to be fed around 6:30, regardless of the day or my schedule, I might still be in bed hitting that snooze button.
Well, rest your mind dear reader, I was brought fully awake by my next companion, my coffee pot. I could literally “smell the coffee” and got up, stumbled to the kitchen, fed my cat, and blindly poured a cup of wakingfulness. I put on some Sarah Groves, opened my blinds, and the slow pink sunrise shone with the brightness of a clean new day. The Lord’s day. I know that each day is the Lord’s day, but Sunday is a day of gathering with my church family and celebrating the new life we now share in Jesus. I enjoy it, ONCE I GET THERE. It’s the getting there that is the struggle. The cocoon of my apartment wraps itself around me, along with the music, the view, my bible, and I don’t want to leave. I want to worship on my deck. But, others long to be encouraged and look forward to the fellowship that comes with worshipping in mass. I need that encouragement as well. So, I am slowly getting myself motivated to get moving. A luxurious warm shower, and more coffee, should do the trick.
"Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men. Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders." Psalms 107: 31-32.

I'll see you there.
