We Made It!

Well, we made it! We left KC at 4:08 in the afternoon on Friday and arrived in Bryan TX at 4:30 am. Twelve hours of straight driving... yeah, for some that might have been a rough trip. But, I told my mom that holding hands and talking the whole time somehow made the trip not seem so long. (Just close your eyes, Unsinkable, and don't read that part, ok?)

The house is wonderful, the stuff is all unloaded, and the boxes are all calling my name. I am going to spend the next week unloading, putting away and getting acclimated to my surroundings. I have a map and a list of places to find today, so that will take most of the afternoon. The list includes the library (of course), the bank, the grocery store, the gas station, and a Target. . . only the basics for today, since I scratched off the movie theatre, church, and Texas Roadhouse yesterday! LOL.

My dear friend, Judy, will be here on the 6th and we have some fun times planned. My goal is to get my stuff unloaded and the guest room ready before then. I also told my sisters that the room has their name on it - after all their help with the wedding... I can provide lodging for a vacation. It's a great jumping off point for Galveston, San Antonio, Houston Space Center etc. OH! And I saw palm trees!!!! Yes, they have palm trees here!!!! Y'all... I'm gonna die this summer.

Anyway.... the boxes are calling my name. I've got to go get started.
