Thursday has been dubbed as Thankful Thursday by my Unsinkable. For the past couple of months, I have been reading her posts and chuckling. However, this week I have been giving it some thought. I think I am going to adopt the topic myself because a thankful heart is a cheerful heart. (I think there is a Veggie Tale song in there some where.)
So without further ado, I bring you Thankful Thursday.
My Top Five
1) My parents. I always thought I had the best parents in the world. They suited me just fine and I never wanted to turn them in for new ones. I did ask for a big brother.... and that never happened. I asked them to adopt one, but that didn't work either. So, I decided a couple of years ago to pick my own brother.... and I found a GREAT one. The best part is that he comes with a GREAT wife who is one of my closest friends. Wait. This is about parents. Sorry. My dad is a terrific storyteller and a funny man, wise, and practical. He listens and gives practical unbiased advice which is usually right on the money, even if I don't want to hear it. My mom is strong, loving, and encouraging. She cooked, sewed, rolled hair, gave perms, went to PTA meetings, talked dad into buying me a flute, and listened to all my "boy" talks. So did Dad, but he pretended he was asleep until he wanted to make a joke or comment. (wink)
Wow. This is going to take awhile and I don't have time. So, I am going to finish this later.
To Be Continued....
