Saturday Thoughts

It’s been a long time since I have sat down early on a Saturday morning with a cup of coffee and my laptop. When I was single I really enjoyed getting up, shuffling into the kitchen to blindly pour myself a cup of coffee, then settle down to read blogs and do some writing of my own . I had a great deck off of my apartment that overlooked the woods and the scene never failed to captivate or inspire me. I discovered that I could while away many an hour on that deck.

Now I am remarried. I find that I enjoy the companionship and to leave the snuggly warmth of the bed isn’t nearly as easy as it once was. Funny how that happens, isn’t it?

But here I sit with coffee in hand, laptop on my lap, my cat curled up on the arm of the sofa and the scent of blueberry muffins baking in the oven. You see-I don’t have a deck here and by-crackie it’s just too dang hot here in Texas to sit out there even if I had one. On top of that, I am hot-flashing like crazy so sitting in front of a fan in the air-conditioned house is a much better option for me and for the man who has to live with me. (wink)

While I’m sitting here, I have been reading a few blogs from my church family and they are very inspiring. I have read about forgiveness, about the early beginnings of the Church of Christ, and about the lives of real people in general. I have enjoy reading their thoughts about what interests them and why as well as about the way they perceive the world and try to live out their faith. In turn it encourages me to do the same.

It’s a great way to start the day….. along with a muffin, a fan and a cup of coffee.
