Maybe men see all of the hubbub, work, and frenzy. Maybe they see money flying out the door while packages (and more packages) come in the door. Maybe they see their spouse frazzled, tired, stressed, and grumpy. Who knows?
All I know is that for the first time in his LIFE, my wonderful husband hung Christmas lights on our bushes. I don’t know how he made it 50 years without hanging lights, but this year he did it out of the goodness in his heart AND he did it while I was at work and surprised me with the little twinkling beauties when I pulled in the driveway. He was hiding behind his truck so he could see my expression.
While the lights are a great place to start, it’s like dipping your toe in the pool. Pretty soon you are going to want to jump in the pool and have some great fun. So, I have the little tree out, the snowmen are sitting around the house, and I have my Christmas music playing in the background while Tim is digging for more lights for the outside of the house.
I am just like a giggly kid. It’s awesome!
One of the Fish men mentioned that Tim was being sucked into the Christmas Vortex…
Well, every now and then, we all hear that great sucking sound – don’t we?
Let’s just embrace the moments, sing the songs, buy the presents, eat the food, hug the family, and thank God for giving us all of the rich blessings he has given us.
Then have everyone help clean up. (wink)
Do you hear it? It's that great sucking sound.....
