Be Intentional

This is love.
• A promise that is kept.
• A place that is certain.
• Someone who asks.
• Someone who listens.
• Someone who is present again and again.

I read this today from a devotional from Proverbs 31 Ministries and thought it was worth repeating. Most people feel like showing love or care is when we provide "things" for people when in fact showing love is more basic than that but requires so much more. It requires being there for them not just in body but in the attention you give them. How many of us know what it's like to be talking to someone but their mind is 5000 miles away?

So, today my challenge to myself is to be more intentional when I listen to others.
