Recap

Well, dear readers, as you can tell from my previous post – I didn’t have much in the way of energy yesterday when it came time to write about the Grandkid Weekend. Tim and I had a great time and planned several things to keep them busy. We made pancakes, eggs, and bacon for breakfast. We packed a picnic which Tot helped to prepare. She put carrots, grapes, and chips into baggies. She measured out trail mix into baggies too. Little David’s job was to put pickles into the baggies but after touching the first one, he gave the job to his sister. He didn’t want to touch them, but we made sure to tell them repeatedly that “pickles come from cucumbers!” (Sorry Unsinkable – but since you suffered from this lapse in your ‘vegetable’ education, we felt compelled to make sure that this lapse didn’t continue to the next generation!) We went to the park and had a great time right up until Tot said, “I gotta go potty!” And there was no where to go – but by the grace of God there were some guys getting the local pool ready and the bathroom was open. (whew!)

The phrases for the weekend were Tot’s “I haf no idea” and Little Dave’s “Wow! I can’t beweave it, Nana. I just can’t beweave it!” Tim and I kept cracking up because some of the little sayings were super funny.

Tim commented on how snuggly they are in the morning (when it’s still DARK outside). Tot snuggled right up to him and whispered, “I love you, Grandpa.” He would have given her the moon right then if he could. Sunday morning found us all in the bed together due to Tot’s bad dream and Little David kicking off all his covers and got cold. The cat decided that she wasn’t going to be left out and joined the crowd on the bed. It’s a good thing we have a large bed cause we sure took up a lot of room – that cat is a cow!

We had such a good time.
