10 Things

Since my dad had his stroke, I have noticed the following ten things in no particular order:

1) We all try to see dad every day. Our schedule has someone there almost all of the time.
2) My family is very conscience of the fragile nature of life.
3) We make a point to spend time as a whole family.
4) We are tired, but we keep on going. We help each other because ALL of us are juggling schedules, family, and work.
5) When one does more on one day, the others try to pick up the next.
6) We communicate to each other after visits, doctor visits, and just daily things.
7) I realize that nurses are an amazing group of people.
8) Our church family is waiting for the green light to visit dad. They love him very much.
9) God is the one in charge and He will be glorified in all of this.
10) We now know many people that have gone through this. They offer words of hope. Praise God for each one of them.

We have always been a close family, but this has forged even stronger bonds that have patience, love, forgiveness, and protectiveness woven in between. This has also strengthened my love for my family, my extended family, my in-law family, my adopted family (yes, J & L that would be you!) and my church family. Without all of you, I would be a “shell.” God Bless You.
