I went to visit my daughter, The Unsinkable Kristen Chapman, over the Labor Day weekend. It was wonderful. I arrived on Friday night and she was there to pick me up. I got my first look at her nose ring. Arrg. It has a metal piece that kept poking out of her nostril. I was NOT a fan of being waved at by a silver piece of metal out of my daughter's nose. It was a little disgusting, but I don't have to wear it, look at it often, or clean it - so it doesn't really matter if I am a fan or not. Dave loves it and she loves it and that is all that matters.
Saturday morning I was able to cuddle and snuggle with my Tot. She was totally adorable and she loved my present. Little David woke up and we snuggled too. He is the happiest little guy I have met in a very long time, and his laughter is infectous. He is a great snuggler, hugs hard, and loves to laugh. Taylor is very good with him and he loves her - totally!
We spent the day at Lake Tyler with Niena's family (Kristen's MIL) and we had a very nice time. The lake was beautiful, the weather was very pleasant, and the breeze was refreshing. We all had a relaxing time. It was a great way to spend time with my kids.
The next day was Sunday. A dear friend of mine came to visit and was able to spend the day with me and meet my family. We had a wonderful day of reconnecting, worshipping, visiting, shopping, and playing with the grandbabies. We exchanged presents with everyone and the day just flew by. It was wonderful to be able to spend time together... we haven't been able to do that in many years.
I have many memories from this weekend and I thank God for answering all my prayers.

I am so glad that you were able to be with Kristen for her birthday weekend. We all know how she likes to draw her birthday out as long as possible! Hannah just turned 14 on Friday! I couldn't be there this year, sad.
How are things going with your dad?
